Best Cozy Fantasy for This Fall

Golden leaves falling on a pavement, soaking rain outside and the aroma of a fresh tea in your mug... That's the fall season that has just came! My favourite time of the year, when I can proudly wear my cute cardigans and watch a drizzle outside under a warm blanket. 

In my native Polish, we even have a slang word for every girl like me, a fall adorer: a jesieniara. It means a female obsessed with fall, who collects candles, loves pumpkin spice latte and watches the marathon of 'Twilight' or 'Harry Potter' after the first fallen leaf she sees. 

And every jesieniara knows there's nothing better than cowling with a blanket, with a mug of their favourite tea and a good cozy book, maybe listening to a sad Adele song. That's the only way I want to spend nights every fall and the only I did and will practice. And in case you are missing a proper book list of cozy fantasy that will make you giggle and forget about the rest of the world, here I come. With all of my experience from the previous fall seasons, I present you the list of the best cozy fantasy for this fall!

Fall or Autumn?

Before my book list starts, I have to add - although I study British English for over a decade, I will use the word 'fall' instead of 'autumn'. Somehow American English is more popular in the Internet and 'fall' is more SEO-friendly. But come on - don't you like the dreamy way 'autumn' sounds? Thus, forgive my mix of British spelling and the American 'fall'. It's all for the greatest good of the development of this blog!

Even though it requires a lot of unseccessfull attempts and too much time spent together, these two enemies have to work together.

Incredibly cozy and warm, TIUTFFYE is a perfect novel for a long, fall evenings. The sparkling dynamics between the main characters, funny dialogues and smack talks between Osric and Aurienne... It all make their relationship the best enemies-to-lovers slow burn. Plus, it is practically spice-free! Are you already feeling the irresistible urge to read it?

Trigger warning! I still don't understand why, but one chapter in TIUTFFYE is weirdly focused on the Aurienne's feet. It was so random and ridiculously written... I can't stop wondering what was in Brigitte Knightley's mind back then... So, if you are somehow triggered by the foot fetish of Osric, consider twice reading TIUTFFYE.

Its Spice is not For Everyone...

What is worth mentioning is the fact that the novels in the series are inspired by traditional fairy tales. ‘How to Love Your Elf’ is based on ‘Robin Hood’, ‘The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea - ‘Little Mermaid’ etc. The mix of hilarious and sweet romances and fairy tale atmosphere creates the series that will make you smile even in your lowest.

However, don't forget that this series is more rom-com than advanced fantasy. You won't find any complex world-building nor complicated politics, but cute romances. Also, these books are only for those who are not afraid of spice. Over-sexualised dialogues and scenes may cringe a reader not used to spice. They did this to me. As a fantasy, not romance reader, I was shocked with the level of eroticism in those books. Thus, I wouldn't recommend them to a reader below the age of 18.

20-years-old Olga suddenly appears in the Ortan Kingdom. As a Russian girl from the 21st century, Olga is different from the whole Ortan. It is a land full of magical creatures known from legends. Dangerously sarcastic and humorous, ‘Пересекая границы’ is the perfect remedy for the fall blues. Olga and her heart of gold mixed with sharp tongue will make you smile even on the coldest evening of the season.
